Good—no, TERRIFIC news!

You will remember that the Ojai Playhouse was, for sixteen years, an integral part of our Festival. Until the disastrous water line break destroyed the historic building, forcing the festival to figure out how to convert the Chaparral auditorium into a workable theater. Under the helping hand and expertise of Barry Hamlin we transformed Chaparral, and for three years it “worked” as the Festival’s principal screening venue. But it didn’t feel the same. Remember the folding chairs?

Well, as you have most probably seen and read, construction has begun again on the Ojai Playhouse and the venue should be ready for occupancy by Festival week.
