7 – 9 PM Free Opening Night Screening of Mad Hot Ballroom movie. The students of several New York City elementary schools learn ballroom dancing and compete in a citywide dance competition. – Libbey Bowl
Friday, November 3
10 AM – 1 PM Student Filmmakers Program – Two 45-minute sessions held at the Ojai Art Center plus students are invited to attend Film Festival movie screenings after lunch. Students are also invited to attend film screenings on Saturday, Nov. 4.

2 – 4 PM Stuart Crowner will interview and lead audience Q&A with 2017 Lifetime Achievement Honoree for Cinematography Johnny E. Jensen, about his craft and its importance in making a film. – OAC Gallery
4 – 7 PM Lifetime Achievement Honoree film and TV personality Ed Asner joins a screening of his June 2017 movie In Vino followed by a Q&A with the actor led by Bret Bradigan. A reception in the OAC Gallery follows. ($24 Special Event ticket)

2 – 4 PM Live Read of winning screenplay from the Screenplay Competition that had over 80 submissions. – OAC Gallery
4 – 6:30 PM Focus Earth workshop sponsored by Ojai Valley Land Conservancy (OVLC). Environmental film shown followed by a panel. OVLC information booth available pre-and post-show. – OAC Theater

7 – 9:30 PM Free Community Screening of The Triplets of Belleville at the atrium behind the Ojai Arcade. Seating on grass. Patrons bring chairs and blankets.
Friday, November 10
10 AM – 1 PM Young Filmmakers Competition Screening – Ojai Film Society, under the generous auspices of the Ojai Film Festival, presents the winning films of its 2017 Ojai Young Filmmakers competition. The presentation will be followed by a student Q&A and a reception – OAC Gallery.
7 – 10:30 PM Debut screening of Beautifully Broken with Ojai actress Emily Hahn. Emily was active in Ojai Community Theater and voice-over work. She now works in Hollywood. – OAC Theater. Reception follows in the OAC Gallery.
Saturday, November 11
11 AM – 12:30 PM Join the filmmakers of Straight from the Pen as they and several former prison inmates discuss crime, prison, and the challenges of bringing about meaningful personal change in oneself. – OAC Gallery
4 – 7 PM Women in Film present Cloris Leachman in her Legacy Film bio, followed by a Q&A with the actress in the OAC Theater. A reception in the OAC Gallery will be held following the event. ($24 Special Event ticket)
