Georgina is a young woman from the Andes whose newborn daughter is stolen at a fake health clinic. Her desperate search for the child leads her to the headquarters of a major newspaper, where she meets Pedro Campos, a lonely journalist.

About the Film
A haunting, heartbreaking account of baby trafficking and the plight of disenfranchised indigenous women in 1980’s Peru, the film is an adaptation of real events investigated by director Melina León’s journalist father, Ismael Leon, to whom the film is dedicated.
Reminiscent of such thought-provoking films about Latin American social and political issues as Roma, Ixcanul, and The Silence of Others.
The film premiered in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival and won the New Voices/New Visions Award at The Palm Springs International Film Festival. Director Melina León is the first Peruvian female director to have a film in the Cannes Film Festival – Directors Fortnight.
