Symphony no. 42
2014, Hungary, Director: Réka Bucsi, Producer: József Fülöp; 10 min.
Symphony no. 42 offers a biting satire of humanity’s dependence on and exploitation of animals. In this thought-provoking animation, animals assume human characteristics, while people behave like animals in an ever-evolving kaleidoscope of unsettling images and sounds. Set to the strains of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, the film synthesizes its disparate sounds and imagery in a final, chilling resolution.
