Hanie strives to become the perfect daughter and student. During a poetry contest, she encounters Ghazal, a foul-mouthed girl with purple hair and a rebellious streak. As Hanie memorizes verses of poetry, Ghazal challenges her to break out of her shell. Over the course of the competition, Hanie and Ghazal discover they have more in common than they realized.
