What do masks say about a people? The answers are as numerous as the cultures that produce them. Using the varied masks of Noh theater as a starting point, Beyond Noh showcases 3,475 masks from different cultures and historical periods. In the process, Beyond Noh takes viewers on a cultural journey through ritual, performance, utility, and politics to highlight the universal appeal of masks.
