The untold story of 999 mostly teenage girls betrayed by their government. Told that by volunteering for “work” they would fulfill their patriotic duty, these innocent young Slovak women willingly bid their families farewell and boarded a train for Greater Germany. Few would ever see their parents again. Thrown into unbelievable circumstances the teenagers’ courage and loyalty to each other developed a sorority of survival that is truly inspirational. This documentary brings a wider audience into the conversation about the historical significance of women and girls and the conditions that perpetuate injustice and inequality.
