This is the bittersweet story of a Native American fisherman who grows up in a racist culture in northern California. In 1973 he decides to take part in the armed uprising against government forces at Wounded Knee South Dakota, the site of the notorious massacre of Sioux Indians by the U.S. Army in 1890. After weeks of exchanging gunfire with federal agents, he returns to his reservation in California. That’s when the real battle begins.
