On a regular day for seventeen-year-old Jennifer, a Chinese girl attending a New York boarding school, she receives news of her grandfather’s death. Homesick and grief-stricken, Jennifer embarks on a quest to find joss paper money to burn in her grandfather’s honor. Along the way she bonds with a cab driver over their shared cultural identity.
