Ojai Film Festival Announces 2024 Film Selections
[Ojai, CA – September 4, 2024]— The Ojai Film Festival (OFF), renowned for enriching the human spirit through the art of cinema, is thrilled to announce the official film selections for its 25th anniversary. The festival will take place from October 31 to November 4, 2024, offering an exceptional lineup of films that exemplify creativity, diversity, and the power of storytelling.
This year’s selections highlight the festival’s commitment to showcasing a wide range of voices and perspectives, bringing together a dynamic mix of genres, styles, and themes. From powerful documentaries to thought-provoking narratives, the chosen films will inspire, challenge, and entertain audiences.

Director Michelle Danner, whose film The Italians is part of this year’s lineup, expressed her enthusiasm for the festival: “I’m so excited to be attending the Ojai Film Festival with my film The Italians. It’s a truly special festival. As a filmmaker, you are always looking forward to being in the same room with an audience.”
Festival Highlights Include:
- Best Student Film + Social Impact & Vision: Winners will receive a Panavision $60,000 Camera Rental Package.
- Diversity & Inclusion Program: Explores the intersectionality of social concerns in cinema.
- International Gems: A curated selection of films from around the globe that offer a window into different cultures and stories.
- Screenwriting Competition: Winning script will be table read at the festival by a cast of professional actors.

In addition to film screenings, the Ojai Film Festival will feature workshops, seminars, and panels with industry professionals, such as distributors and entertainment lawyers, providing valuable insights into the world of filmmaking. This year’s program also includes tributes to cinematic legends, social gatherings, and opportunities for filmmakers and audiences to connect and engage in meaningful discussions.
The Ojai Film Festival celebrates filmmaking excellence with trophies awarded in categories such as Best Narrative Feature, Best Narrative Short, Best Documentary Feature, Best Documentary Short, and Best Animated Film. The Bill Paxton Award, for the best film in the Gold Coast track (805 area), includes a Castaway 7 Sound Package with studio time and a sound engineer. Honorable Mention Certificates are also presented for outstanding entries.
