A young whale becomes separated from his family when he discovers a shipwreck and swims over to investigate. There he befriends the shipwreck’s lone survivor, a caged songbird with a beautiful voice. Lost at sea, the two friends struggle to survive when disaster strikes. The Bird and the Whale is a bittersweet animation about the unexpected gifts of friendship.
