A young woman tries to reconnect with her elderly grandmother, who suffers from dementia, by baking a traditional cake from a family recipe. The taste of the cake triggers the grandmother’s memory of a folktale about an ocean duck. Weaving together two narratives about the duck and the girl, this touching animation explores themes of grief, loss, and cultural identity.
