As Ishafan, Iran invests in technological development, the traditional art of tilework is in danger of dying out. Mr. Ilya, an artisanal tile worker, is determined to overcome personal hardship and preserve this elegant artform. Tilework is directed by up-and-coming Iranian director Keyvan Ahmadi, whose short film Lock won best documentary at the 100th International Short Film Festival.
