Tired of getting pushed around and punished by his own parents, Wei-Lai, an 11-year-old Chinese American boy, shows up at his best friend’s house and offers himself up for adoption. A deceptively simple film that explores the experience of Chinese immigrants trying to find a place in their adopted American homeland.
