Aristocratic Nahid lives an idyllic life until she loses her only child. Grief-stricken, Nahid takes out a bank loan and moves to Paris to start over. When family members sabotage Nahid’s ability to repay the loan, the bank threatens to foreclose her property. Inspired by Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard, Whitefish Season explores the human cost of corruption.
