First memorialized in Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s opus Gulag Archipelago, the Gulag was Soviet dictator Josef Stalin’s notorious system of forced labor camps. Women of the Gulag interviews some of the last survivors of this brutal system of repression and terror. For the first time, these women share their compelling and tragic stories of life in the Gulag.
