Siyi, a Chinese student in an American theater school, puts in more effort than her American peers to practice for her first role as a college student. Her professor’s concern about her accent prompts Siyi to speak only English, even during video chats with her mother. However, Siyi’s attempt to perfect her craft comes with a cost.
