As a child, Jenny comes from school every day to an empty house. When her overworked father is home, he is too exhausted to give Jenny the attention she craves. Years later, Jenny is an adult living in a busy apartment complex. When she befriends a young neighbor, Jenny finds a creative way to give the girl the sense of connection she missed growing up.
