Thursday, November 1
7 – 9 PM Opening Night Community Free Film – Libbey Bowl
Picnic on the lawn, with food trucks available, followed by screening of Mel Brooks’ comedy-horror film spoof Young Frankenstein.
Friday, November 2
10 AM – 1 PM Student Filmmakers Program – High school students attend two seminars at the Ojai Art Center then attend Festival screenings.
9 PM – Filmmakers’ Interest Groups – Attending filmmakers have the opportunity to socialize and talk with peers – Ojai Art Center (Raymund Room)
Saturday, November 3
11 am – Business and Legal Seminar – A panel of entertainment industry executives will discuss the topic and share insights, led by Laura Caulfield, entertainment legal expert – OAC Gallery
1 pm – Cinematographer Seminar – OAC Gallery
4 pm – The Art of the Pitch – How to “sell” your idea to potential Funders with Emily Best, CEO of Seed & Spark – OAC Gallery
7 pm – Lifetime Achievement honoree Malcolm McDowell film O Lucky Man!, attendees encouraged to join the Welcome Party after the screening – OAC Theater
9 – 11 PM Festival Welcome Party – OAC Gallery
Sunday, November 4
10 am – Awards Brunch (11 am – Presentations)– Presenting the Lifetime Achievement Awards to Malcolm McDowell and Ellen Kuras, ASC, and celebrating the winners in the various film categories. – OAC Courtyard ($24 Special Event ticket)
1 pm – Screenplay Live Read – A “live” reading of, Matadora, the winning screenplay by a cast of actors. – OAC Gallery
4 pm – Action in Film – An illustrated discussion of how stuntmen “pull off” the amazing stunts we see on the screen with John Branagan – stuntman and stunt coordinator – OAC Gallery
Monday, November 5
All Day – Gold Coast Screenings in the OAC Theater. A panoply of films created in and around Ventura County.
Wednesday, November 7
7 PM – Free Community Screening of Kubo and the Two Strings (2016 Oscar nominated animated Japanese fairytale) at the atrium behind the Ojai Arcade. Seating on grass. Patrons bring chairs and blankets.
Friday, November 9
10 am – Ojai Film Society Screenings – Winners of the OFS 2018 Young Filmmakers competition followed by a reception – OAC Theater
4 pm – An Afternoon with Eva Marie Saint – Women in Film Legacy Series Film screening, Q&A with Ms. Saint, reception following – OAC Theater & OAC Gallery
Saturday, November 10
4 pm – Loving Vincent – Screening of the 2018 Oscar nominated animated film. Q&A and a demonstration of the art techniques used to create the film by two of the artists Tiffanie Mang & Charlene Mosley – OAC Theater & OAC Gallery
Sunday, November 11
1 pm – Focus Earth – Screening of Evolution of Organics followed by a panel discussion and a reception/environmental “fair”, in partnership with the Ojai Valley Green Coalition – Ojai Art Center
